My multi-talented publisher, Grace Bridges, has created another video trailer for my soon-to-be-released novel, The Muse. This one is a little more artsy than the other, using stills and graphics rather than live-action clips.
I’m still a little conflicted about the whole idea of video trailers for book promotion. There’s no way to adequately encapsulate the experience of reading a book into a 2-3 minute movie, and potential readers might be left with misleading preconceptions. However, we live in a multimedia age, and people have come to expect this sort of thing as part of the “package.”
Gee, I sound like some grumpy old guy who wants to bring back the typewriter. Enough grousing. I think it looks pretty cool. Check it out.
