Scribbler’s Scoreboard: August ’09

Pretty good month, August. Despite a crazy work schedule and a lot of preproduction/marketing work on my upcoming novel, The Muse, I managed to send out a few submissions, participate in the 200th Liberty Hall Flash Challenge (winning best in my group, though not best-of-best, which went to a very fine story by the talented Christine Lucas–more on her here), and even sold a story!

The August Scoreboard:

1 Aug: “An Eternal, Unbroken Chain” submitted to A Fly in Amber

16 Aug: 37-day rejection from OG’s Speculative Fiction Magazine for “Stress Reaction”

25 Aug: 54-day acceptance from Every Day Fiction for “Weightless”

28 Aug: “Of All Things, Seen and Unseen” submitted to Residential Aliens

28 Aug: “The Preserve” submitted to Brain Harvest (2009 Mega Challenge contest)

Still awaiting responses from Brain Harvest for “Bullies With Big Fat Heads,” Books for Monsters for “Come You Back to Mandalay,” and Everyday Weirdness for “Flashback.”
