Ah, the best-laid schemes o’ mice and men gang aft agley. I left my copy of The Skin Map at work yesterday (40 miles away) and had to stay home today to accompany my daughter to a college interview. So, I won’t be able to complete my reading and review of The Skin Map and The Bone House for a couple more days. Complete it, I will–the adventures of Kit & Mina have thoroughly hooked me.
Quickly surveying some of the other stops on this month’s Tour, almost everyone seemed to enjoy The Bone House very much. The biggest complaint was having to wait until this time next year for Book 3 in the Bright Empires series. Another problem mentioned by a few reviewers was a lack of clearly Christian content in an ostensibly Christian novel by a Christian author offered by a Christian publisher. Some were disturbed by a pagan ritual depicted late in the story. However, most acknowledged that, even in its second volume, this tale is just beginning. They were willing to wait and see how things develop in the episodes to come.
Yep, that’s going to be one long year waiting.
That’s all I have for this month’s CSFF Blog Tour. Next month…no, I don’t even want to think about next month. I’ve still got two books to finish.
